One of the 12 stamps set (seventh definitive issue) issued under the series - Visiting Ships.

Around March 07, 1831, S.V. Lucy Anne which was brought from Sydney, used to transport 86 Pitcairners away from their island for a better life in Tahiti.

  1. Thank you for showing a pic. of brig Lucy Ann, wiki tells us a number of Pitcairners died from disease in Tahiti, plus homesickness, and were returned to Pitcairn island. Our convict ancestor Robt. Allen was transported on Lucy Ann with 77 others from Port Macquarie to Norfolk Island July 1830, and finally in Dec 1832 freed to return home.
